PSSP Benefits

Benefits for Contract Assignment PSSP

OSSTF members who are within a PSSP Contract assignment of 90 calendar days or longer are eligible for the OSSTF benefits plan as part of our Central deal.

Below you will find the following documents:

  • Memo re Contract PSSP Eligibility: provides details regarding eligibility for benefits
  • Quick Reference Guide-Oct-2022: provides highlights about the benefits available under the plan
  • Single vs Family Benefits Premiums 2022-2023 Contract Employees: provides the rates for the benefit plan
PSSP members who have a Contract position of 90 calendar days or longer will be eligible for the plan as of their first day in the assignment.  PSSP members whose shorter position extends to more than 90 calendar days will be eligible as of the 90th calendar day from their first day worked in the assignment but they will be able to submit eligible expense claims dated back to the beginning of their assignment.  Please read the Memo re Contract PSSP Eligibility carefully for details.

If it has been at least three weeks since you have met the eligibility criteria to access the plan and you have not received an invitation from OTIP to join it, please contact hr.services@ddsb.ca to confirm your eligibility and whether you have been entered into the system.  While you are waiting for the various systems to process your eligibility, if you are certain that you fit the criteria, you can use the benefits that you need, keep the receipts, and submit them later for reimbursement.  If, after reading through the documentation, you are not sure if you do fit the criteria, please contact PSSP President Stephanie Pritchard at Stephanie.Pritchard@d13.osstf.ca with your questions.  OSSTF District 13 Benefits Officer Nicole Bléau is also available at Nicole.Bleau@d13.osstf.ca for assistance.
