Challenging Workplace Misogyny Forum May 15, 2026
District 13 TBU and the Equity, Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Committee will be hosting their inaugural Challenging Workplace Misogyny Forum on May 15, 2026. This will be an opportunity for female-identifying members to come together for a day to discuss misogyny in the workplace, situations those members face, and to foster supportive conversations to develop strategies to feel empowered and confident when responding. Space will be limited, but we hope to have members from every school and work site attend. To register, use the QR code on the poster or contact Garrett at the office (905) 668-7100 or garrett.metcalfe@d13.osstf.ca.
Get Back Into the Swing with the Annual Shelley Page Memorial Golf Tournament
 |
Once again, District 13's TBU/PSSP Public Relations Committee is proud to honour the legacy of former District President Shelley Page -- by hosting its annual golf tournament and dinner to benefit the Caring Colleagues fund.
The tournament happens rain or shine on Friday, June 12, 2026, with a 5:00 PM SHOTGUN START, at Lyndebrook Golf Course. Early bird registration is $40 per golfer; after May 15, registration goes up to $50. That price includes golfing, chicken dinner (or veggie upon request), prizes, swag and FUN!
To register, contact Vansh Gulati at the office: vansh.gulati@d13.osstf.ca or (905) 668-7100.
District 13 Human Rights Committee's Queer Excellence Competition
 |
All self-identified 2SLGBTQIA+ students are invited to participate in our Queer Excellence Competition by submitting a creation that celebrates queer identity, creativity, advocacy, resilience, joy, and community. This competition is open to individuals or small groups. Teachers are encouraged to incorporate this opportunity into their curriculum where appropriate. Submissions may take many forms — bold, expressive, political, glamorous, vulnerable, loud, soft — we want it all.
We are asking that the challenge be launched with students during the month of May so that winners can be selected and announced in June in recognition of Pride Month. All entries are to be submitted by Monday, June 1st at 3:00pm. The winners will be selected by committee and announced later in the month.
Further details can be found here. If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please contact Garrett in the office: 905 668 7100 or garrett.metcalfe@d13.osstf.ca.
